    About Me

    From Dancer to Craftsman

My work at Heights Pottery is a dialogue between earth and tree — between the grounded permanence of clay and the living grain of wood. I find inspiration in natural forms and textures, embracing the beauty of utility and the timelessness of handcraft.

Clay allows me to explore rhythm, patience, and fire. Each vessel I create carries the marks of its making. Whether thrown on the wheel or hand-built, my pottery is meant to be used and lived with, enhancing everyday rituals through touch and form.

Wood brings a different language — one of grain, warmth, and age. I often incorporate wood into my pottery, either as a complement (collars, lids, bases) or as standalone functional pieces. Working with reclaimed hardwoods, I aim to highlight the natural character of each section, letting the material guide the design rather than imposing it.

My mother’s love for nature and gardening, my father’s effortless woodworking abilities, and my fascination with the Arts and Crafts movement inspire and ground me. Though the processes of throwing, firing, and turning may be harsh on my materials, the journey itself is exhilarating.

As a former professional ballet dancer, I value the discipline and commitment required to pursue technical precision. Although perfection is elusive and unattainable, I place great importance on mastering technique and am committed to lifelong learning in my craft.

My dual practice is rooted in tradition but open to experimentation. Whether shaping a bowl or turning a collar, my goal is to make honest, enduring objects that connect people to material, to process, and to the joy of craft
